Instructions: Discovering the Middle Ages in Europe.
You are invited to travel back through time and imagine life in the past in Europe.
A. Search for the so called Black Death during the Middle Ages in Europe. And then answer the following questions.
1. When did the plague arrive in Italy?
2. What caused the plague?
3. What plague symptoms did people have?
4. What kind of solutions did frightened people look for to avoid the disease?
5. Why did the plague spread faster in cities than in rural areas?
6. About what percentage of the people of Europe died from the plague?
7. What impact did the plague have on civilization in Europe?
8. How did the plague affect feudalism? (Feudalism is the political system of the Middle Ages.)
9. What modern diseases are counterparts to the plague? How do people react to the victims of these diseases?
10. Imagine that the plague came to your country, how would people react?

N.B. Students will be tested on the content of the summer work, when back to school. After handing in the summer work to the teacher on the first week of school, the grade will be considered as a first test. 30 points will be deducted from the test as penalty for plagiarism in case the work is copied from the internet as copy paste.
• Students will be graded according to their class level.
